Sibling Duel Through Poetry

Most of us have that love and hate relationship with our siblings. I sure do. But our featured two young writers for this week are siblings who vent their frustration for each other through poetry!

Isn’t this better than constant bickering?

Oh Brother!

by Sachi Dueñas, 9 years old

O, Brother, O, Brother, why do you bother?

You know I have homework to do.

O, Brother, O, Brother, why do you pick on me?

I tell you to stop, most times – three.

Don’t get on my last nerve.

Or you will really serve.

You are on top.

Of my list to tell people to stop.

Oh no! What did you do?!?

Arghhh!!

Oh, Brother!!

Oh Sister!

by Mito Dueñas, 7 years old

Oh Sister! Oh Sister!

Why are you so strict?!

Oh Sister! Oh Sister!

Why do you always put me in trouble?!

Oh Sister! Oh Sister!

Why do you always blame me?!

Argh! Argh! Argh!

Oh Sister, Oh Sister!
